  3. Find your serial / register code: on the device's info screen, via a PC at Help → Tool Information, or printed on the box.

02 Updates

Update your software

  1. Check your update method: Wi-Fi (OTA) for JU2000 MAX, JU2000, UR1000, UR800, UR600 and HD S700; PC + card reader for UR400, UR300 and the MA series.
  2. Wi-Fi models: open the update screen, check for updates, then download and install over Wi-Fi.
  3. PC models: install the PC update client on a Windows PC, insert your tool's memory card with a card reader, sign in and select your model, then download the updates to the card.
  4. Reinsert the card and you're on the latest coverage. Full model-by-model steps are on the Software Updates page.

03 First scan

Run your first scan & read codes

  1. Find the OBD-II port — usually under the dash on the driver's side.
  2. Plug in the connector, then turn the ignition to ON (engine off, unless a function needs it running).
  3. Let the tool detect your vehicle, or select make → model → year.
  4. Choose Auto Scan or Read Codes to pull stored and pending trouble codes.
  5. Note each code (like P0420), read its meaning, and look it up on our Fault Code Lookup. After the fix, clear the code and re-scan to confirm.
