Three ways to update — pick the one with your model's badge.

OTA (Wi-Fi)

For tablets & Android handhelds
  1. On the device, open Settings → Wi-Fi and connect to a stable network.
  2. Return to the home screen and open the Update (Upgrade) app.
  3. Sign in / register your device the first time, then tap Update All — or pick the systems you need.
  4. Keep the device charged and powered on until every item finishes.
Tip: updates download in the background — you can keep using the device, but don't power it off mid-install.

PC + Card Reader

For compact handhelds & entry tools
  1. Download and install the ICARZONE PC update tool on a Windows PC.
  2. Take the TF/SD card out of the device and plug it into your PC with the included card reader.
  3. Open the tool, register / log in, and select your device serial number.
  4. Download the latest software to the card, then put the card back in the device.
Tip: don't rename or delete existing folders on the card — the tool manages them for you.

PC + USB Type-C

For tools that update over a USB-C cable
  1. Download and install the ICARZONE PC update tool on a Windows PC.
  2. Connect the device to the PC with a USB Type-C cable and power it on.
  3. Open the tool, register / log in, and select your device serial number.
  4. Click Update All and keep the cable connected until every item finishes.
Tip: use a data-capable USB-C cable and a direct port (avoid unpowered hubs).

Are updates really free?

Yes. Every ICARZONE tool includes lifetime free software updates — new protocols and vehicle coverage at no cost, with no annual subscription. Pay once, upgrade forever.

My update stopped halfway — what now?

Make sure the device is charged and on a stable connection, then run the update again — it will resume the unfinished items. If it keeps failing, note your serial number and the version you're on and reach out through the support options below.

Do I need to register the device?

Yes — a one-time registration ties your free updates to the device serial number. After that, updates are available whenever you connect.

How do I know if my model uses Wi-Fi or a card reader?

Each model card above carries a badge: Wi-Fi OTA means it updates on the device over Wi-Fi; PC + Card Reader means you update through the PC tool and the included reader.

Can I skip versions, or do I have to install each one?

Just install the latest version — it already includes everything from the versions before it. There's no need to step through them one by one.
